roll cage or subframe connectors?
 

i have a 86 trans am currently and i just put a 350 in it. the 350is built. my car is a t top car and i no those bodys are prretty weak. so to stiffen up the body what would be better a 8 point roll cage or subframe connectors?
if anyone has input it be much needed thanks

I'd use sub frame connectors first and foremost.
I think the cage is probably above and beyond the need. How "built" is "built"?

im in the same situation. but im making mine a drag car.
so less weight the better. i was planning on gettig bolt on subframes and then welding them. since they are cheaper from what i found.
the other thing i was going to get was the 10 point cage. you would think that should stiffin the car up some.

A roll cage won't do anything for body flex like SFC will do. You still need to tie the front and rear subframes together.

Install a good weld in SFC. Later if you need it, install a roll bar or cage.

My car is a t-top. I installed SFC the first week I owned it and didn't get around to installing a roll bar until after I raced it for a year because I was just dipping into the 11's the second year of racing the car. At the time, a roll bar was needed at 11.99. Now it's 11.49. When I was knocking on the door of a 9 second pass, I ripped out the roll bar and installed a full cage.

I've never had a problem with the t-tops or body cracks.
