coil spring question I am tired of looking at this, so I need to figure out a way to fix this. When I bought the car a few years back, the previous owner installed a set of moog 5610 springs in the front. The ride height now is 29.5 in the front and 27.5 in the rear. They are installed and indexed correctly also. I believe that the factory ride height is around 27.5. Should I cut a half coil off the springs or just buy the eibach prokit and do all four corners. I dont mind how the rear sits, but a little lower would not bother me either. I am just curious on what others would do to fix this. |

Re: coil spring question Knowing the springs are recent I would just cut them. Do it right, big cutoff wheel, go slow, keep it cool, and it's fine. The spring rate stays the same unless you heat the metal too much. I suspect a new set of Moog's sitting low enough will handle just as well as any Eibachs. A coil off the front and half a coil off the rear of my Moogs gave me an awesome stance and it rides great. |
Re: coil spring question I threw in a set of pro kits and then gr2 struts and monotube shocks in the rear also. I thought the front springs were going to be difficult, but it was almost as easy as the rears, surprisingly. I like the new correct stance and it rides so much nicer than before. Thanks for the replies. |
