Third gen 1LE brakes on a 2nd gen?

Does anyone know if you can retro fit third gen 1LE front brakes onto a 2nd gen (1970) Camaro?

Andy...you can install the old b-car 12" rotors and spindles from the mid 70s (77-79 I think)wagons others im sure. I had a 70 Camaro I did this swap on it was easy. You need the spindles they push the caliper outwards from the center of the rotor to clear the 12" rotors. You have to have the studs drilled for the f-body wheels to fit. Or you can use the 1LE rotors. Just a matter of fabing the PBR calipers to the spindles. I bet it could be done.

I dont know about using the PBR caliper though. I didnt try that..)

Now you're talking, guys. I have a '70 1/2 split-bumper Z28 that's waiting for me to quit fiddling with my IROC.. https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif

I have also seen complete kits in the PST catalog, but who knows what they're like.

So I guess what I need is a set of 2nd gen spindles,3rd gen 1LE rotors, bearings, calipers, and carriers. Then see what kind of adapter will be required?
Does anybody have a 2nd gen spindle lying around?

You might need to use a 77-81 F car spindle for the 1LE rotors to work. The -76 b car spindles had a smaller diameter at the outer bearing surface of the spindle. Im not sure if its the same with the 70-81 f-body or not. Thats why I had to use the 77-79 B car spindles because the 1LE rotors outer wheel bearing was a larger diameter than the -76 B car spindles.
