Thump in right rear when under heavy acceleration Hi all. I have a 1988 GTA that is all original. I don't drive it often. For the last several years, when I really give it the throttle, I hear a thump in the right rear. To combat this and avoid spending a bunch of time and money, I've just avoided heavy acceleration (I actually haven't driven it at all the last few years). This summer I plan on driving it a bit and I want to fix this. I have no idea how old the shocks are, but I assume it could be weak shocks and I'm hearing it bottom out on the shocks. It feels OK when I push up and down on the car though. I've had it up on ramps and looked for obvious problems, which I did not see. Any suggestions on what to look for or check? Thanks! |
Re: Thump in right rear when under heavy acceleration CHeck all your rearend bolts for torque and also check your spare tire and all the parts for being tightly secured.. |
