Thump in right rear when under heavy acceleration

Hi all. I have a 1988 GTA that is all original. I don't drive it often. For the last several years, when I really give it the throttle, I hear a thump in the right rear. To combat this and avoid spending a bunch of time and money, I've just avoided heavy acceleration (I actually haven't driven it at all the last few years). This summer I plan on driving it a bit and I want to fix this. I have no idea how old the shocks are, but I assume it could be weak shocks and I'm hearing it bottom out on the shocks. It feels OK when I push up and down on the car though. I've had it up on ramps and looked for obvious problems, which I did not see.

Any suggestions on what to look for or check?

Thanks!

CHeck all your rearend bolts for torque and also check your spare tire and all the parts for being tightly secured..
