grinding noise when turning

Hey guys, when I turn the camaro hard over right or left I am hearing a grinding noise. It did it bad this morning when it was cold but seem to stop when it warmed up and got going. Any idea what it could be? Thanks

Re: grinding noise when turning

Could be low power steering fluid, bad wheel bearings, worn tie rod ends, worn brake rotors, CV joints.

Hey thanks for responding. Yeah that is what i am thinking too. I will check the power steering fluid this weekend and will check it into the shop if that doesn't do it. Thanks again

CV Joints? on our cars?
Well could be some of those that were mentioned. Does it sound like it is coming more from the front center or rear of the car? Mine did that and it sounded like it was coming from the front at first but then sounded like it was more towards the rear or center. It turned out to be the rear end fluid being low and needed to add limited slip addative too.

Hmm....interesting point tagolf2000. It seemed to be coming from the front but only would do it every so often. I went to my mechanic and they check everything out on the front suspension and said everything was good and tight. Couldn't reproduce the noise either. When I brought the car home I checked the power steering and it was extremely low (Not even showing on the dip stick). So I added power steering fluid and it seemed to help it out so I think I am in the clear for now. If I hear the noise again I will definitely listen to see if is coming from the front or rear. Thanks for the insight!

Since the power steering fluid was low, you might want to check for leaks.
