This shows mounting points for my UMI Wonderbar and I don't see how welding one inplace of this setup would help if anything it could complicate things .The UMI bar is extremely well mounted using the sway bar mounts and does exactly what its intended to do.Take tension off of the steering box and tighten up the front suspension.

Here's a couple more photos of the UMI bar to get a better idea as to how solid there made =

those slotted holes leave a lot of wiggle room if the sway bar bolts aren't nice and tight.. welding it in eliminates that slop..

The TDS wonderbar has 3 mounting bolts per side.

Re: wonderbar or similar

I'm not sure welding would be a good idea as the bar is attached to bracket, not the frame directly... My car is up in the air now for new front sb bushings and a global west wonderbar.

Re: wonderbar or similar

If the bolted joint was designed correctly (and you can bet it was) welding near the bolts is not going to help at all. The so called slop is meaningless as these aren't pinned joints. The sole purpose of the bolts is to clamp the two pieces together, not to locate anything. The friction between the two pieces is what prevents any sliding in the joint. If you have everything torqued correctly, you will get no benefit from welding.
