Name that wiring connector!/Wheels rub strut
 

I have a 1987 T/A GTA. PO said someone attempted to steal it, he has a button straight to the starter :help: The keyswitch is intact, you have to turn it to on and push the button to start it and the key turns it off. Under the dash there are two connectors with nothing connected :O one is a two wire with two red wires, one is hot (12v) alll the time, the other appears to be a four wire connector with two wires connected, yellow and purple. Are these supposed to be connected?
This is just the tip of the iceburg, the car was totally mutilated.
Also any ideas how to open the hatch? The latch seems loose, I can pull up about an inch while it's latched. The power latch button don't work and neither does the key. Being loose it rattles and leaks air. I'd love to just get it open!

ALSO- almost forgot, when I put on front tires, the wheels are hitting the struts while on a jack, if I let it down it stayed stuck- it's like I have to put the lugnuts on a little, put weight on the wheels, then tighten the lugnuts. You can see where the strut wore into the wheel around the bead when the car bounced. My tire guy lent me wheel spacers to get it home but I don't like them. Anyone have this fitment problem?

Pictures would help tremendously. Could have rear wheels on the front. The 16x8 wheels had different offsets front and rear. The rears are deeper. IIRC, ta's were stamped on the back side of the hub. Pill the wheels and check that they are all in the right place.

I have a 92 Rs too! It's for sale here in Eastern Colo if you know anyone ;)
I will def look at the wheels this morning! I noticed a different amount of chrome sticking out front to rear, but assumed they might be different widths. The spacers are definately a no-no.
I will get pics as soon as I figure out how to do it, I think I still have a Snapfish thing.

Thanks Plum 92_Camaro!! That fixed the wheel problem! Never ocurred to me they would use different offsets!

I have been looking at wiring diagrams and pics on the internet of the rear hatch release button, they all show my button on the center console, but mine is on the dash. I did get the hatch open by taking apart the inside plastic and found everything in there taken apart, the latch was hooked to the slider and it was sliding up and down, the remote to unlatch it was hanging there useless! I did get it to click, wiggling wires and getting it to ground, so I assume with some wire repair it will work. The sliding suck the hatch down thing is totalled though. May have to mod it to be stationary. The car is far from cherry, I just need it to be functional for now :)

Most likely the clutch pedal switch connector for the starter engagement.

So in my case , with an automatic, it is irrelevant? Cool.
I also found a 16 inch legnth of pink wire wound up laying on the kickpanel under the steering column. Could that be the missing starter wire to make the key switch work?
