Seems to happen a lot more on cars without the wonderbar, but I guess for just under 500k miles, even the wonderbar can't stop it. Great looking ride, thanks for keeping her on the road!

I think it has to do more with the bolts that hold the steering gear and their positions and if they are loose. Cause they all crack in between the bolts that hold the steering gear. Its like the gear stiffins the area between the bolts, yet the material between the bolts flexes and flexes till it breaks/cracks.

Can you post bigger pictures?

I've seen a few like this, but I haven't for a while but I'm wondering what exactly is causing it now. It's not consistent, seems like wonderbar equipped cars are less likely to have this cracking, which really doesn't make that much sense since it stiffens the frame in another area which would likely cause this kind of thing to be worse, and I've only seen it on one car that was autoxed regularly (something that you would think would cause this kind of thing), but most seem to be cars that have had fairly easy lives from a stress on the front suspension perspective.
