front coil springs. 15" or 16" wheels

I have been looking at front coil springs and I see that some are for 15" wheels and some are for 16" wheels.

I assume the 16" springs are taller but do any of you have experience with the different ones?

I am going from a 2.8 v-6 to a Pontiac 350 so I need new springs.

I can run either 15" or 16" wheels since I have both. Not sure which ones I am going to go with yet.

Re: front coil springs. 15" or 16" wheels

The OD of the stock 16" wheel/tire combo is virtually identical to the stock 15" setup. That has nothing to do with spring choice.

In STOCK catalog lookups, IROCs and the upper level Birds, with HANDLING suspensions, were equipped with 16" wheels; thus making that simple observation a good way to identify a "sporty" car from a grandma's grocery cart.

Popular spring combos are Moog 5662 or 5664 front and CC635 or 5665 rear.

Given the non-availability of quality 15" tires, and the extremely limited choice of 16" ones, 16" is probably the better way to go.

For this Pontiac motor, what are you doing about exhaust and transmission? Why only a 350 when a 455 is the same external dimensions (except about ¾" taller and wider across the top)?

turbo 350 for the trans. Non-header exhaust manifolds at this point.
Why a 350? Because that is what I have in the shop.
