Borgeson steering box #800130 1 Attachment(s) https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...rsistYmm=false Just found this box the other day after I ordered a Lares box from Hawks which I cancelled after I got word that it wasn't going to ship anytime soon. I just put in the order tonight Jegs seems to have the best price. This box just came out last month from borgeson 12.7:1 I asked them if its a reman box and they told me its a new box which is good just really want a good quality box that isn't a arm and a leg. https://www.borgeson.com/xcart/produ...cat=148&page=1 |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Nice find. Keep us updated on it. Thanks |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 It's probably setup for inverted flare fittings not metric oring fitting like we have stock. Not a bolt in replacement but can be made to work. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Steering box includes adapters to be able to use either O-ring or flare style hose connections. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 You know, I read the add and somehow totally missed that part. My bad. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 3 Attachment(s) Here it is shipped from Jegs even though it said it would come from Borgeson. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 1 Attachment(s) Getting there looks like I need to dent in the frame some cause the bottom mounts are not flush yet also need shorter bolts for the bottom. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 1 Attachment(s) Didn't need much hammering on the frame but need 2 4" bolts for the bottom mounts the longer factory ones go threw and hit the box. I don't have any wheels on the car or any steering stuff hooked up yet but feels better already. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Have you had the chance to use the new box yet? I might get one if they actually work. I've been through three reman boxes and they've all been awful. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Still not on the ground yet do to 6le burning me on a set of wheels but I just did all new proforged steering and it feels so solid now and tight. |

Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Did Lares stop remaning boxes? Got mine from RockAuto and it's perfect. No slop at all! |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 I'm going to be picking up that Borgeson box soon as well. Hoping to order this week, but probably won't get to swapping this weekend. I'll post up my results. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Super happy with mine feels worlds better! I even let my dad take it for a spin and he said the steering felt like it was a new car. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 I'll have to grab one of these sometime |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 I installed the box this weekend. Pretty easy thanks to Obey My Bird. Thankfully I didn't need to finesse the frame! Anyhow, here's my write up with some pics. I linked this thread in mine as well for future "searchers". https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...ml#post6262281 Great update/upgrade. Steering feels great. Mine was REALLY getting sloppy. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 I'm looking at this box myself, how did your power steering hoses work out...did they mount directly in the box or did you have to use some supplied adapters to adapt the lines to the box? |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 Direct fit. Although it did come with the adapters. Reverse flares I think. |
Re: Borgeson steering box #800130 cool thanks, ordered the box saturday, can't wait for it to come in |
