Ok i do autocrossing an circle track racing in my GTA. im looking into doing the weight jack system .but i feel that u can go to speedway motors an build them part by part cheaper.has anyone tried to make there own?also has anyone used the weight jack system an notice a real diffrence..

Plopping a set of adjustable Jack's in the car will not make any noticable change at all. The reason behind them is to be able to run a certain rate spring, and a ride height you want/need, then have the adjustabliity to adjust corner weights to balance the car . After everything is setup you will most likely notice a difference over a stock or genaric lowering spring.

I made my own. I cut out the center of the top of the factory spring pocket in the k member and welded in nut plates, then drilled holes up through the frame and into the engine bay for adjustment. Cost about 50$ not including springs. Did about the same thing in the rear.

My observations are that the available cups for the springs have no way to locate and retain the spring, so adding a ring to them on the inside of the spring works. I used 1.125 bolts with the fine thread, not the cheaper 1" coarse thread bolts. I even went out of my way to gundrill the bolts to save a little weight. (FYI, it also makes them a drill guide when drill through the frame rails)

I use a company called Southwest speed. They have an easier to navigate site than Coleman and have a great selection of parts. Their house brand "black magic" springs are pretty good too

As 86TA has said, it is possible. It is very likely quite a bit less expensive to do it this way as well if you have the time, tools, and skill to do it yourself. In the absence of those 3 things, Ground Control offers a 4 corner weight jack system. UMI currently offers front weight jacks with rears in development. Detroit Speed also offers fronts. Springs in various rates are easy to get from multiple sources once you have the spring mounts.

We have our rear weight jacks coming out very soon. The custom Made In USA springs are in stock in 175 and 200 lb/in. Fronts are 850 and 1050.

For auto-x we plan to sell 1050/200 and for street handling 850/175.

Ground Control uses springs that are too short, especially in the rear.
Some day when i get off my lazy butt I'll get some longer springs from Blue Coil that won't fall out of the spring pocket.
