Idler arm adjustment

Hey all, so I replaced the idler arm and center link, (and struts and brake hoses), I bolted the new, Chinese arm exactly where the original was, but when I snugged the bolts then turned the steering wheel from stop to stop it clunked in both directions.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I need to loosen the bolts, not sloppy loose but enough to allow movement, then have a helper turn the steering wheel from stop to stop until I see where it wants to live?

Re: Idler arm adjustment

The idler arm must be mounted such that its axis is at the same angle as the pitman shaft (parallel to the pitman shaft), and that the center link is absolutely horizontal.

If it’s not absolutely horizontal, bump steer will make it an absolute misery to try to drive in a straight line.
