Has anyone installed Spohn tubeular a arms? How do you get the coils in?
 

How dou you get the coils in? I have no engine or trans in car. Just the shell. Rebuilding car from ground up & need to know it there is a trick to getting suspension installed with out the driveline weight to help. Any advice would be appreciated

They are a pain due to the depth of the spring pocket but if you use a spring compressor like the one below you can get them in. The hook style can't get them compressed enough while still being able to install the spring and removing the compressor. Somebody may chime in with a different experience. My opinion is this compressor is definitely easier to use but it is a lot more expensive.

Once you get the spring into position, just use a floor jack under the a arm to compress the spring and connect the strut.

I got them in with the hook type compressor, but it was a pain in the a$$, I wish I knew that other type existed, I'm lucky I still have all my fingers with the number of times they slipped out of the compressor

I had such a hard time i ended up replacing them with a different set. I have 2 pairs of spohn a arms and they are both different designs. one pair the springs went in in just minutes but the other was a no go.
