Strut Boots When installing adjustable caster/camber plates and/or trying to get an autox or road race spec front alignment typically the factory strut boots make contact with the strut opening before you get there limiting your travel. What are you guys doing on cars that see significant street use? I'd imagine that race cars and weekend only toys just ditch them. I've taken some polyethylene sheeting and wrapped it around the top of the strut and zip tied it on both ends which worked well but always looked like crud. A long time ago I sectioned the top of the strut towers and welded the openings further back and inside than stock but I'm not willing to do that much work on this car right now. I'm wondering if 4x4 shock boots might work. |
Re: Strut Boots Back in the day my friend and I split a 4 pack of 4x4 boots. In the end they really aren't needed though |
Re: Strut Boots I ordered a set of bilsteins that are straight and narrow at the top, then accordion at the bottom. I believe they will work, cheep enough if they dont. Not shipping till nov 8 though. Damn pandemic |
Re: Strut Boots I don't think they're needed, but on my GTA I used some of the 4x4 boots from Rancho. I think they were these: |
Re: Strut Boots I'm looking to get a set of accordion type boots, can anyone post a link to the exact boots that they used? *EDIT* Will these work? Rancho Shock Boots RS1952 |
