please help, i like being able to stop

just today this happened. i stopped my car to get mail out of the mailbox, put my car in park with my foor on the brake, and all of a sudden the brake went all the way to the ground. also, my brake light in my dash came on. i opened the door, and when i pressed the brake i could hear air escaping!!! can anybody help me, or am i going to have to break down and tear it apart?

look for a wet spot, sounds like you have a leak in a line

i figure its on of three things: a hole in the line, the line has somehow come loose, or my caliper is screwed. i have class till 8 PM tomorrow, but am going to take a look at it afterwards, i will keep yall posted.

found the culprit. this is the line that comes off the caliper. if you look close, the entire hose is split in half. the "air" i was hearing was brake fluid squirting against my fenderwall. wish i had my camera with me to show it spraying. it was crazy! all it took was a $10 part from o'reilly's, luckily.

What you have experienced is the number one reason to buy new flex lines while changing pads (assuming you don't know if they have been replaced recently) Imagine if that had happen while you were making an emergency stop or just crusing down the road.

People, don't skimp out on $30 worth of parts and a simple brake bleed!
