454 TB? or 305 TB?...

Hey guys, i have a question.... how will a modified 454 TB work on a basically stock motor with LT headers and 3" exhasut? I know i will need tuning obviously, but im looking to do H/C/I in a few months... is it worth it to use a 454? or should i just stick with the general modified 305/350 TBI? Will my car run ok with the 454 for now or should i just wait and get it later after the H/C/I (which i havent really decided on, but im either getting edelbrocks stuff with a custom grind cam, or a Vortec set-up)

thanks alot...

You won't gain much HP on a stock setup, but it will be a huge learning experience and I highly suggest you give it a whirl. Don't do it untill you have the tuning equipment though. I would use the big injectors as well. Once again you completely don't need them, but this is going to give you a tast for what it will take to tune your head and cam setup. Like I said this would be a perfect way to learn, if things go all wrong, you can just swap on the stock TB and stock chip and be back in buisness in 15min. You might want to do the TB first and then the injectors, so you see exactly how each effects your tune.

FI doesn't bog down with a TB that's too big like carbureation does since it doesn't rely on intake velocity for to atomize the fuel. Just be prepared for a touchy throttle that doesn't do much more after 1/2 throttle. Since your motor doesn't need all that extra flow, that last 1/2 of throttle won't really do much.
