Who's running a 7747?

I have one coming my way for $100. I need instructions on how to repin the harness so I can use it. Who will burn a chip for me? Howell? I've heard good things about them, any opinions welcomed.

If you can get the 7747 ECU to work, why don't you just burn your own chips. There's a bunch of free editors out there and you can get the hardware to burn the chips for less than a custom chip would cost ya'.

I just printed the article on burning your own chips, so maybe I will. Are you currently using a 7747? Because I'm doing alost the same mods as you(corvette style aluminum heads,LT4 prod. cam, single plain, and 670)Are you burning your own chips?

I was trying to, I never got the swap to work. I've been chasing my tail for the past few months trying to get my car tuned, swapping ECUs, burning PROMs, ect., ect. I'm really disgusted with the whole thing...I've been driving the minivan since October https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/frown.gif , ughhh.

Zac: The 7747 swap is easy. Just plug it in.
There are instructions to swap and cut some pins, however I was told the pin changes are NOT nessary (thanks to GMECM list). The 7747 and 8746 use the same circuit boards. (not all the same components though)

All this said, I have done the swap but I did do the pin changes (was before I had the new info).

PS: I've got 7747's for $35-40 from junkyards.

I started running 747s about 6 years ago. There is a hac of it floating around. Learn to do your own chips and be free of clowns stealing from you. For the price of what most chippers want you can be doing your own. Lurk over at the prom board for a while and read the old posts, your answers are probably already there
