fuel filter fittings are stuck, want some opinions I want to change the fuel filter and the fittings wont brake lose.I think this has got to be a common problem.Usually when somthing does not want to come apart I grab the torch. Not an option this time.I soaked it with penetrating oil for two days before I tried the first time. And yes I am using tubing wrenchs.I'm woried about screwing up the steel fuel lines or the fittings.Come on Guys, what's the secret on removing this thing. Sounds like you've tried what I would do. The only other thing I might suggest is supporting the filter with one hand and lightly tapping on the nut area of the filter with a brass hammer (or any small hammer). The object is to jar the fittings loose, not pound them loose. Good luck! It sucks when simple things cause such a fuss don't it? https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/frown.gif |
