Cam swap newbie

Hey guys, instead of asking a rediculous ton of questions, does anybody have links to some good reading material on installing a cam in a third gen? and general information about cams?

Specifically I have an 89 RS with the Lo3 that is mostly stock other than full exhaust including headers, and complete smog/emissions delete.

And as for what cam to buy, will this be fine as a direct swap with stock rockers/springs valve covers etc.?

That cam will certainly be better than the O.E. peanut cam in the LO3, additionally it will require at least matching valve springs, fueling upgrades and tuning.

The "LT1 cam digest" tread has lots of information, sadly the pics have disappeared.

GM installs that cam in literally thousands of boats and crate engines, some of them with 1.6:1 rockers with stock production vortec springs which are no better than stock L03 springs. Fueling upgrades will be needed as well as a little tuning.
