No fuel!

I’ve got a 1991 Camaro rs 305 tbi. It ran flawlessly for 2 years then on about a 90 degree day on the highway the car died and lost fuel. Car turns over but no fuel at injectors. Replaced fuel pump, relay, oil pressure switch under car, checked all fuses. Was told of a possible rear impact sensor that can go bad and cut fuel. Location? There is a sensor on the back of the rear end. What is this? Any ideas help!

When the ignition module in the distributor goes out it can keep the injectors from pulsing. Do you mean they are not spraying or that no fuel is getting to them?

No fuel pressure TO the injectors, or proper fuel pressure, but no fuel spraying OUT of the injectors? BIG difference.

Connect a fuel pressure gauge, tell us if the pump primes when key is turned from "Off" to "Run". Tell us what the fuel pressure is.

DO YOU HAVE SPARK?

I’ve got spark. No fuel to injectors. Replaced fuel pump and everything worked again for about 1.5 hour drive home then same thing happened. All fuel cut off. Pump not priming. There seems to be some kind of sensor on the back of the rear end. Any ideas on what this is?

This car doesn’t have a fuel shut off impact sensor. What’s it doing now ?
no pressure at the injectors and is the pump running during cranking and the 2 second prime ?

you need to start at the relay and see if the ecm is powering the green/white wire for the relay pump prime. The power to the pump is grey or tan with a white stripe. It passes through connector c100 next to the master cylinder. There could be a bad connection there or even the pump ground.

1. No voltage/current to fuel pump
2. Defective ground.
3. Defective pump
4. Plugged filter or filter sock
5. Out of gas

If you normally hear the pump priming, and you don't now...most likely #1 or #2, since the pump is fairly new. (but anything is possible)

Repair as needed.
