Knock and WinALDL?

Forgive me I know NOTHING about knock and knock sensors. This is for a 1984 Pontic Firebird V6 2.8L base car with approx 200,000 miles on it. Engine hasn't been rebuilt that I know of,

But now that WinALDL is working it is showing alot of knock data, I mean alot.

An Example reading is 6444 at 75 Map and 800 RPM. If I understand WinALDL that would mean 6444 knocks since I started the car? That really makes me scratch my head as that can't be right, correct?

That would be my take on it. What is the indicated knock retard? If it corresponds to the high knock counts, you may have some mechanical noise or an overly-sensotive sensor. At 200K on a V-6, I wouldn't rule out either possibility.

vader,

what is an acceptable amount i have a similar issue wiht my 90 305 TBI, i have 1 cell (and only 1 cell) that shows alot of kock (if i drive for 15min or so it goes to 300-400) but this only happens in 1 cell. the rest either never shows knock, or just has 1 or 2 counts. is a situation like that anything i shoudl worry about? or should i try to replace the knock sensor

Hmm forgive me, once again I am new to using WInALDL, where is the knock retard listed? Or I can exel the sensor and table data and post those to the forum as well if it helps.

(EDIT) Okay I have a Sensor Log and a Knock log Both are Excel files.
