who has full roller 1.6 rockers?

Will they fit under my centerbolt valve covers or will I have to grind some stuff? The ones I'm using are the same ones that came on the LT4, Didn't the LT4 have centerbolt valve covers, why would mine not fit? Thanks in advance

I believe they should fit under OEM GM covers... Not sure, though. Maybe your covers have wider bolt-tower tubes???

I have used the GM's SAligning which are the same as he Crane Gold SA's and they fit just fine, again, under OEM covers.

Zac,

Comp also has increased ratio full rollers for self-aligning applications without guide plates. They are forged steel, not aluminum, and are quite a bit stronger and lighter than the Crane Gold Race or the slightly heavier and stronger GM version of the Crane Golds. The part No. is 1318, and they fit right under stock covers.

i have comp 1318s on my little engine and the DON'T fir under the stock covers. they come so close it'd make you cry, but they didn't fit. i had to make a set of valve covers for it since no one makes tall valve covers for a v6.

My Crane Gold RRs will not fit under a stock CB valve cover. They are 1.6 rollers though, so I can't answer about 1.5s.

I have 1.6 Crane Gold RR and they DID fit under my center bolt valve covers.

I have 1.6 Crane gold race rockers and they fit fine , no modifications needed at all to anything.

By the way, all this crap about aluminum rockers not lasting is a bunch of bullshlt

I have never heard of anyone having problems with QUALITY aluminum rockers.

the formula, I agree.
I have seen rocker failures of all types but don't think that aluminum rollers are any worse on breaking than stock rockers for street use. I think those rumors come from circle track racers that run pretty radical high-pressure valvetrains for extended time periods. The aluminum would fatigue quicker in that case.
I run aluminum rollers from Harland Sharp on the street with no problems.

as far as the valve cover problem, I would just modify the valvecovers to work.

IIRC, when people first started running those rockers and ran int the problem you have, their were 2 schools. One group moved to moroso centerbolt VCs (like Trax IIRC), the others bashed out all the inner webbing and had 'em fit just fine.

I also have Dart Pro 1 heads, which might have something to do with the VCs not fitting. Never tried them with the stock heads.

I have the GM hot cam kit installed in a 350 L31 Vortec motor with stock valve covers, 1.6 roller rockers, and a .525 lift cam. Everything fits great. I used clay on top of the rockers and installed the covers and turned the motor over. Just like checking piston to valve clearance.
