Open air element or dual snorkel

Ok, it's for my 92 RS TBI, but it will interest lots of people.
My engine is stock, a 305 TBI. To improve the his breathe, I plan to change the single snorkel air induction system.
But I hesitate. What to put?
- An open air element? Airflow is better but the engine takes hot air, the ennemy of horsepowers.
- A dual snorkel L69 element? Air flow is better than the stock element but I'm not sure it really takes fresh air...
Help me to decide, what is the best compromise?

well install what ever you like as either one is okay and the performance lost by the hot air is neglegable at the point where you are swapping aircleaners for power

Not necessarily true. The dual snorkel, if you can find one with the hoses, is the better setup. It will feed lots of cool air into your motor. If it doesn't have the hoses (ducts) then it doesn't really matter - both will just be taking in hot air.

Re: Open air element or dual snorkel

I just swapped out the single snorkel with my dad today. We went with your standard edelbrock 14 x 3 open element. I'm not gonna lie, im very impressed with the results, theres no doubt on an improvement in power. Not to mention if i tap the gas i get to hear the intake suck in air and at WOT it sounds amazing. I cant speak for the dual snorkel setup, but the open air element so far seems fantastic.
