700R4 shifts fast/Rpm is always low

Hello everyone this is my first post...i have been using the search tool to find everything i wanted to know at this point...i just last week traded a blazer for a (91 RS 305 auto 77k miles)..we havent owned a camaro for 15 years...first car 69 Z/28 owned for 20+ years, wife had a 79 berlinetta 350 auto, sold for a 79 Z/28...sold for kids sake...so anyway my new 91 has the 305 TBI auto...273 rear end gears...and when you drive it ..it shifts through all the gears before you cross the street...alway's a 1000k rpm or lower...but i really noticed it today when i drove my truck (01 chevy crew cab 4x4 LT 2500HD 496 with alison trans)...it shifted like a manual...always running at 1500 rpm or higher...mantained 1500 always...and would rise to 2k between shifts... more in the power ban?...my camaro is at idle al the time...is there a way to adjust this??...to hold each gear longer...mantain higher rpm...i know mpg will suffer....but if i wanted high mpg a would drive a moped!!

First place to look in that situation is always the TV Cable adjsutment. Like a tranny kick-down cable but it works at all RPMs and throttle positions unlike earlier, simple kick-down cables did.

Do a search for "TV Cable Adjustment" and you'll probably find many good decriptions of how to do it.

If that doesn't fix it, there's not much else besides internal transmission issues (unless you TV cable is broken or simply not hooked up at all!).

Just do as i did.....shift it yourself......Your solenoids in your valve body of the trans might be messed up....
