oil in every other intake

This is a new motor. I'm running the hsr. Finally got a decent tune and was able to run it for a few min checking the timing and for leaks, etc. No smoke from the exhaust at all, but had smoke coming from the breathers in the valve covers. So I pulled the intake thinking it didn't seal, but it looks like it sealed. Although it looks like it was at an angle. So there was oil in the intake ports but only intakes 3, 4, 7, & 8. And the rocker arm studs do not go thru to the intake ports. Any ideas on what I should check?

I'm having the same issue..do u have good baffles in your valve covers? Might be pulling oil from your PCV into your intake.

If your running just breathers in the valve covers there will be smoke out of them. As long as it is not excessive its normal. Do you have a PCV valve?

In my case I'm running a PCV. I pulled apart my SuperRam, removed the pleanum and runners today an removed a lot of oil. My baffles were to small, I also added an inline oil seperator .Putting it back together tomorrow...Only way I could see him or me getting oil into the intake would be by getting pulled in from the PCV system or maybe a bad lower intake manifold gasket(not likely) but I would think that would only flow into the heads and combustion chamber not up into the runners and upper intake.

On a new motor its important to seat rings properly. The method I use is to find a steep hill. Drive up the hill in 2nd gear, keeping the rpm below 2,500. Drive back down the hill in 2nd, letting the engine hold the car back(engine braking), again dont go above 2,500 - 3,000. Repeat this several times. Also for break in be sure to use 30 or 40 weight. No multi vis or synthetic. Run the single weight for 600 to 1000 mi, then switch to your oil of choice.

I built my 355 with low tension rings and run a vacuum pump to create good ring seal. More power.

Well I replaced the intake gasket yesterday, it wouldn't have been the first time I couldn't get it to seal right on the hsr. When I first started the motor I did not have a pcv, just breathers. I do have a pcv now since it is more beneficial. And I would agree with the motor not being broke in yet and the rings are not seated yet. I was to concerned about the oil in the intakes. But today I'm just gonna go break in the motor and see if I can get the rings to seat.
