AFR Engine buildup

I have been doing a lot of looking around trying to decide whether to buy a crate engine or have an engine built for me. The crate engine I like because it is a known quantity (dyno sheet and warranty required), but may not include exactly what I am looking for. The buildup I like because I will have a lot more say in what goes into it, but I don't know any engine builders in the area or the quality of their work. I also will have to guess that the components will work well together. While looking online I went to AFR's website to review their heads, and stumbled across this page for Chevy dyno numbers: http://www.airflowresearch.com/chevy_dyno.php The engine I was looking at was the 430 HP 355 engine. I was shocked at the power numbers given the relatively small heads (180cc runners), mild compression (9.5:1 with aluminum heads), and moderate flat tappet cam. Given that it will be 100% street driven, I love the torque numbers. Has anyone built a similar engine to this? Guess I am just skeptical. Are the AFR heads THAT good to be able to produce that kind of power?
Thanks in advance!!

PS: Does anyone know of a reputable engine builder around the Chattanooga area?
