91 camaro is not cranking not security issue.
 

Hi I have a 91camaro rs 3.1 v6 mfi. It was running up to about a month ago. My g.f. turned her off then she wouldn't start at all. It did crank at the time. I had the ignition control module checked and its working. Solo. I replaced starter dist. Cap,rodor, plugs, wires, coil, timing chain, and sprockets,iac valve, starter relay, fuel pump, filter, fuel injectors, fuel rack, fuel pressure regulator, and some other things that aren't involved with starting. Basically I just did the timing chain and it was tdc w/ rotor pointing at #1 and the pulley mark states 10° before zero for tdc. It all matched up. Try to start the car and she just cranks. Even though I'm having to wedge the starter relay for now. That was yesterday but today I go out after letting my spark plugs dry from all the trying to start it so much.put them in and she don't even crank. I do NOT have a vats problem as the passkey is seperated from my actual ignition. (Dashboard) i do have power but she wont even try to crank. Checked starter again today and they say it tests fine. I'm at a stand still as I have exhausted my knowledge of options. Please help if at all possible. (Ran codes all I get is 12)

Update got a starter relay enabler from a 91 firebird with the 3.1 engine.
Put it in and it engages but still no kick. Getting nss and ignition pick up coil today. Starter tested bad at 1 auto parts store yet good twice at another. Idk plz help

If you are talking about the resistor in your key that can make all the difference, your ignition is designed to respond to the exact resistor in your key, if one you put in is just slightly off it will not allow you to crank the car. Check your fuses, make sure you have the correct fuel pressure. When you turn the key on does everything else work such as stereo, dash lights etc?

Please read as I said this is NOT a security issue. As it turns out the neutral safety switch was in fact bad. Now she cranks but I think timing may be off. Any help on the specs or can tell me what I can do w/o a timing light?

ok, my fault, misunderstood, and do you have a timing tab set up near the crank? if so what you can do is get like a silver paint marker, or something bright, mark the timing mark on the balancer so you can see when it passes the tab. you should be able to search the timing specs and how to set them for your particular car on the forums.
