Stupid previous owner! Previous owner put in new oil pressure gauge and eng temp gauge. now the radiator fans do not work. Already checked fuses. Where do I check next? It's a 1987 IROC-Z with the 350 TPI. :help: |
Re: Stupid previous owner! Check the pass side head; probably took the fan switch out and put the sending unit for the gauge in that spot. |
Re: Stupid previous owner! i believe the second fan should only run when the a/c is on. The primary fan should kick on when the temp switch in the head closes, some people change these to a lower temperature |

For dual fans, the ECM commands the primary fan on based upon its reading of the CTS and the set temperature recorded in the ECM. The secondary fan comes on when the head temp sensor closes the circuit OR when the A/C head pressure is above a certain amount. |
Re: Stupid previous owner! 1 Attachment(s) OK. So I looked into it a little more. The connection that is by the battery in the engine bay was all kinds of messed up. On the look out for replacement. |
