What should I know about installing 1.6 rockers.

Im installing some 1.6 rockers on my 99 Vortec 350. In switching to these 1.6s do I need to change my pushrods. It has stock hydraulic roller lifters and cam. How do I test the sweep and or if i can just keep the stock rods. thanks guys

As long as they ain't rubbing the guide plates Ur good ... The best way to install is to take ur old valve covers and cut the top of em out .. Then bolt em on and install rockers tighten em up then crank it .. After engine is warm .. Don't Rev it just idle ... Loosen each rocker till
It starts to tick then tighten till it stops then go another 1/4 turn done .. Go to next one .. Also ur pushrods need to be able to spin .. If u can't spin them with the valve closed their too tight .. Hope this helps

My primary question is why??. Do you really think on the street with a stock set-up your going to gain anything noticeable??. And with all the potential valve train geometry problems,it isn't worth it. This is real world facts.

You are far, far, ahead of the game if you apply the money towards a roller cam and kit that matches up with your engine's compression ratio.
