Wanting to build my 350 into a 383. Powerhouse kit?

My l98 is gradually losing oil pressure and has a huge leak under pressure at highway speeds. Figure since I need to pull the engine anyway I might as well get some more power outta it.

Been doing some searching, found an article on super Chevy mag about a cheap 383 build kit from a performance outfit in Cali. It's called the powerhouse kit and it says on the website that they are pretty reputable. The kit they sell is all under a grand.

Just wondering if anyone on here has delt with them before?

And I want to do a t56 swap too while I'm at it lol

I went to their website and did the options I would want, like forged crank, pistons & rods, moly rings, 1-piece pan gasket, balancing, upgraded bearings, upgraded oil pump, and that took the price up to almost $1800.

If you want a cheap kit with a cheap cast crank and cheap cast pistons and cheap gaskets and cheap rings with cheap bearings with no balancing, then, yes, the kit will be pretty cheap.

On the other hand, a Scat kit from Summit Racing, without gaskets and oil pump, will run you about $1650.

But, I don't recall anyone saying their Powerhouse stroker kit blew up on them.

So, your call.

You get what you pay for. If you buy something because its cheap, you better drive it like its cheap too, because it wont last.

You're gonna want everything five7 named, with the forged crank being optional depending on application.
