warped valve guides or bad stem seals?

okay guys i have a 91 RS with a swapped 350 TPI and a 700r4, intake and headers. my started blowing smoke about two months ago, it wont do it at startup only once its warmed up. the smoke is definitely oil. ive had that checked but i ive had people tell me seals and ive had a chevy guru buddy of mine tell me its worn or warped valve guides. its my daily and im kinda short on cash. is there any easy way to tell? i know how to do seals, if a guide is bad then what do i do?

also i have done a coolant pressure test and a compression test both passed with flying colors, and there is no oil in coolant or vise versa

Re: warped valve guides or bad stem seals?

Guides can get worn out from a very high mileage engine or excessively poor valve train geometry. Go the simplest route first and replace the valve seals. Leaking valves seals normally foul up spark plugs.

If you have a bad guide and you have OEM heads, it's cheaper to just buy new replacement heads. If you've invested money in aftermarket heads that have had a lot of work done to them, getting the guides replaced is a better option.

If new seals don't fix the problem, do a compression and leakdown test.

All cylinders had the same compression. Already did that test. Motor has about 25, 000 miles on it. Its pretty new... I guess ill do seals and see what happens
