Ok another dumb question about engine refresh ( I know I know)

Ok so the SBC newbie has another mundane question BUT I did google it and found pretty much ZERO for answers and on youtube. Long story: Freshening up a lower mile 1987 350 engine. The rear main was not leaking BUT the RMS retainer gasket was? It's odd but this motor has never been gone through or opened up. So, I removed the plate and RMS and cleaned everything up. I got a new RMS and retainer plate gasket. So!

A. Do I use Loctite on the stud and 3 bolts that mount the retainer plate?
B. Do I use a gasket shellac on the block and front of retainer plate gasket then mount it and torque it?
C. I installed this viton RMS into the housing and noticed a little wrinkle on the outside lip. I ended up getting it all the way down flush but this little dip concerns me. Is it trashed?

A.: I never use Loctite on anything if I can help it. Proper tightening is usually all it takes.

B.: No. It's 2023. Don't use that Stone Age stuff. You can use almost any modern sealer though; Right Stuff, Ultra RTV, Permatex "aviation sealer", gorilla snot, etc.

C. Looks like you tried to tap it in around the edge. Very bad idea. Do you want to re-do this because it leaks? I wouldn't either. Best to get a new one and start over. Use a press if you can, with a flat thing such as a block of wood on top, to press it in ABSOLUTELY straight and evenly all the way around at a single pass; even, just a hydraulic bottle jack set on top of it and put it under a car as though to lift the car.
