Part 4, about the LSx

Nevermind that the LSx won't start if an injector keeps coming unplugged. Unforgivable, as it really doesn't even hurt emissions and can cause people to die by being stranded, but there's a far worse problem.
And it's the After market's fault much more than it is GM's fault.
You can phone up Summit, or Jegs, or Speedway, and get some cheap, stamped steel brackets to mount an alternator and a P/S pump on any traditional V8. Usually chromed 1/4" steel, and getting close to $100 for a set, but that's fine.
If you spend two grand for the parts to EMP-proof your LSX with a carburetor, an intake manifold, a Ford 289 distributor, a Carter mechanical fuel pump, and the GMPP timing cover, plus water pump spacers, there's no readily available way to drive the accessories, nor mount them where they can be driven, at any price. You can custom order, pay $3500, and wait 3 months. No.
If an EMP happened before you got all that, you'd die stranded.
The LSx and LTx are great engines, but if you haven't already invested a very excessive fortune, as described above, you better get a SBC just in case.

I remember when the bomb went off.

There I was, knee deep in my LS swap. The stock accessory drive is tainted with the curse of technology, in the weeks prior I dug a 20ft hole and buried them deep.

I remember the words of the guru. Chrome. Chrome will get me home. Frantically, I unwrap all 13 layers of aluminum foil from my rotary phone.

Schk. Schhk. Schhhk. My blood pressure soars with each digit as I phone Jegs. They pick up and I begin incoherently yelling, demanding the cheapest stamped steel drive they have. This is just an ordinary day for the Jegs employee though, and they find the pieces I need.

Scrambling now through the seven locks on the box where I keep my checkbook and silver coins (Barb please come back I quit online poker), I hear a great rumbling in the distance. I yank the pullcord on the single armored window in my concrete bunker and watch the E.M.P. wash over the land.

I was too late. The superbowl has started.

So someone is mad that a motor created in the mid-90's, nearly 10 years after carburetors dropped out of the mainstream, doesn't have aftermarket support for carburetors?

Stuff like this is why we need red flag laws, dude has been posting off the wall stuff all day.

If doomsday happens, why are you worried about front engine accessories. I only need bullets and someone who has supplies and no bullets. Please stop posting. None of this is helpful to anyone. It's thought vomit without context or a point.
