89 trans am gta vs 94 lt1 camaro?
 

theres this girl down the street who ALWAYS asks me to race and i want yalls opinion on the outcome.

my car is a all stock gta with the 305 tpi, and great tires. its pretty damn quick if i may say so myself.

her car is a 94 lt1 camaro. this car is fully riced out. park bench sized wing, school bus paint, altezza lights, the works lol. it has a kinda unhealthy lt1(poorly maintained) and damn near bald tires..

what do you guys think?

even a tired LT will put out... I think your in for it.... close race to say the least. Never underestimate a "TIRED" engine...

Try to get her redlight to redlight and you may have a chance.Jjust be careful and do it on deserted streets.I hate to say,unless she cant drive at all shes got you in anything close to or over an 1/8th

yes believe it or not. all original 305tpi. i thought they only had the 350 at first but then i further educated myself lol. its a real gta i ran the numbers. :) has the code y84

Really guy's? The LT1 better be real tired for a 305 3rd gen to even be within striking distance. Not trying to be a jerk but a LT1 4th gen would have it's way with a 305 3rd gen even if she can't drive. IMO. Good luck anyway.

a stock, auto LT1 fbody is an easy low 14 second car. a stock, auto 305 GTA is around mid 15s

unless the LT1 has a blown head gasket or two burnt plug wires, your gonna lose

yeah single pipe. other is welded closed. and yes i have seen it, as well as riden it. its pretty quick but stalls out lol.

ok then if she always spinin them then you i would suspect be good, btw is your car an stick or auto? also your car is stock right? maybe you should install an basic $30 cutout since its cheap and should help an bit. also maybe some temp. weight reducts. also your are lighter and all the crap on her car just adds more weight.

mines an auto. all stock. good running condition(hers isnt).

that's still a second slower than your average, stock auto LT1. My ex GF ran a 14.0 at 100mph in her bone stock 94' auto formula. The car had 122k miles, so you could consider it "tired" as well. Alls I'm saying is don't go into this thinking it's gonna be an easy win

I agree. My 94' Caprice, which weighs about 4600 lbs and has an abused 192,5XX mile LT1 ran a 14.608 at the track last friday with a cold air intake and cat-back. So a F bod should be faster, unless like stated, something is wrong with their car.

I can deff back that up, i was there that night at the track with 5-0 Blackbird, running the Camaro against that Caprice. Its a monster out of the hole! For weighing over 1k more it it pretty darn quick! Just like he said, exhaust and a cat-back. That car sure impressed me, Lt1's dont get the respect they deserve. I have seen plenty LT's keeping up with LS cars with similar mods. Unless the LT is destroyed i think you have slim chances. Good luck man! Post up a vid!

My Gf's stock 200K mile Ex-police car caprice ran consistant 9:15's in the 1/8 with an open rear end and 3:07 gears. They move for big cars. No way in hadies I'd mess with an LT1 with a 305 car. My 93 Formula blows away my 88 305 TA, a nd the 01 TA whoops the tar out of both of them!! Let me sell you a 350......LOL

sorry to break it to you bro , but shes probly gonna walk on you. even though the car looks riced out she still is rocking a lt1 engine.

when i was still street racing i raced a lt1 camaro with a tuner, cat back and thats prettty much it. he was able to put about a car on me and i have a l98 in perfect running order with headers, slp runners and accel base, and cut out and injectors. if i was you i would get some mods on your car

With crappy plugs and wires, street tires, and a bent Kmember causing some False KR issues, I ran a 14.7@94 with a 64k auto Formula with 3.23s. With 2.73s it would've been 14.9.

If she spins and it has 2.73s, you could squeak out a victory. LT1s are tough.

An LT1 Ain't no joke, When it first came out if scared the S##t out of ford's Mustang. Ford then answered with it's Boss 302, bringing that back just to be ableto compete. Between the two engines the LT1 is thwe better more Powerful engine. ( not to take anything away from yours, but a 350 whips a 305 any day, even though a 305 Can be modified with the right combinations to put out more power ).

But mostly, it's frowned upon when compared to a 350 anyways, However, it's a Badder engine than most people give it credit for being.

Good Luck anyways if you do decide to take her up on it.
