How fast in how far? What heads and cam does it have? Don't buy a car on how fast you think it will go because if it isn't built good it isn't going very far. You need to find out more about it.

Going to see the car soon in person to figure out more of the details before even giving an offer, just looking for some good insight

Look for a parts list, who did the work, how long ago was the work done. How does it sound, any ticks, leaks, puffs of smoke. Any proof of what was done other than someones word. For some reason, people tend to not be truthful sometimes. What kind of shape is the overall car. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they take care of things. Then the next question if everything checks out, is what is the person asking for a price. This is a 27 year old car so keep that in mind. Just be cautious.

thank you for the advice i will be sure to look into it as much as i can. the body is in good condition but needs a paint job and the interior needs back seats and some tlc to make it look nice. the car sparked my interest becase im looking for a third gen in good running condition but in my 2500-3000 price range, but since its got all the add ons plus new tires im willing to pay a little extra if necessary. he is asking 3100 obo.

With what you described, $3100 is pretty steep. $3100, would be closer if everything was in better shape. The speedometer on these cars turn over to 0 after 99,999 so don't go by the miles on it. Check the doors for sag and the bottom of the inside of doors for rust.

the headliner sags too. what do you think would be a fair price to offer assuming everything checks out?

went and checked out the car yesterday morning and everything sounded and looked great on the build. ill be taking the car to my mechanic for a once over sometime this week then giving him an offer starting at 2500, but would be comfortable paying up to 2800. the car was in better shape than i thought it would be, just having a couple rips in the driver seat and missing back seats but otherwise good condition for a car that age

Good idea having someone else check it out also. I hope it works out for you. If you do get it, post some pics of your new ride.
