I have. a 1989 iroc 350 that has blobby I don't really have the funds to get it fixed just wondering what you guys think a good price would be knowing that whom ever buys it will have to have at least a 2000 dollar cost and thats cheap I hear.......the car is in great shape other wise I have orignal rims https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...c2ad90da3e.jpg |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? It really depends on condition of the floors. What did you mean by "it has blobby"?? |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? I am guessing that is an autocorrect typo for "blow by", engine burning oil. |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? Yes blowby and the car is solid no rust at all |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? There's two on Kijiji in Ontario claiming to be in great shape for just over 8k. There's lots of other high prices, who know if they ever sell. The History/Originality section pegs a clean unmolested IROC, nothing rare at around 5-7 k US. So my guess is you'd subtract out the engine work from those prices. |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? thanks just as I thought.........Id be losing money if I don't get it fixed.........I guess I could look at it like.....hey I have this shell now all I need is an motor. Next year ill be thirty be nice to get er fixed by then |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? When the 305 died (thankfully) I got a low mileage Tahoe motor like of of these, https://www.summitracing.com/int/sea...illocation=int Everything from your car bolts up, they've got four bolt mains, vortec heads, and 255hp to start. Any kinda mods and your well into the mid 300 hp, all with a GM warranty. Hard to go wrong. |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? Sorry, I'll correct myself before someone else does. Vortec heads so you'd need to switch to a vortec intake but you get the idea... |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? Hey thanks for the info this really helps |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? You may also find a good deal on a local LT1. These are good engines overall and getting cheaper as everyone goes nuts for LS engines now. The weak point of the LT1 engines are the opti-spark distributor. But you can get bolt on kits to eliminate it from places like Torqhead. |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? You can find Gen 1 SBC engines cheap right now. Everyone going LS. I recently picked up a 70k mi L98 for $500. Looks like a great car maybe you will find a good deal on a 350. Or an LS swap? |
Re: 1989 iroc needs engine sale price????? Thanks a lot I’ll check tommarow |
