Thirdgen Fest '10 information Thirdgen Fest is held every Memorial Day weekend in Crete, IL (about 40 minutes south of Chicago). This year it is Friday and Saturday, May 28th and 29th. (It will be pushed back to Sunday or Monday in the event of rain.) 2010 will be our ninth year and the event continues to get bigger and better every year. We have had over 70 cars attend in the past and hope to have a better turnout this year. We have seen a LOT more interest in this event since we became a sponsor here on TGO and are hoping for a HUGE turnout for 2010!!! Here what's planned for this year: Friday, May 28th 7:00 pm --- Friday night party Friday night is the party night. The Friday night party is basically just your average summer party. We will have a bonfire, pop, chips, etc. We will also have bean bag boards and other things to do. The party isn't really about the cars, it just gives people a chance to hang around and talk with other people who love thirdgens. It works great for people coming in from out of town that have nothing to do Friday night. Saturday, May 29th Noon --- Thirdgen Fest '10 Saturday is the actual event day. The first 100 cars registered will receive a goodie bag with a Thirdgen Fest '10 keychain and other items. We provide all you can eat food and drink all day. Each car attending is assigned a number and you will get a car information sheet to display will your car. Trophies are awarded in nine categories: Best Camaro: Stock Best Camaro: Modified Best Firebird: Stock Best Firebird: Modified Best Paint Best Interior Best Engine Best Restoration Best of Show The stock and modified classes have trophies awarded for first through third place. The other five classes are first place only. Winners are chosen through participant voting. Each registration packet includes a ballot for the owner to vote for the car they feel is best in each category. We also have a raffle at the end of the day. (Prizes have not been decided yet.) Each registration packet includes one raffle ticket and additional tickets are available. The day will end with a car cruise to one of the local cruise spots. Registration packets for Thirdgen Fest '10 go on sale April 1st and are available through the day of the event. The early registration price is $35 per car and is available April 1st - May 15th. The cost increases to $45 per car if you register May 16th through the day of the event so it pays to register early. Your registration fee gets you into both days. Remember the fee is PER CAR, it doesn't matter how many people you have in your car. The registration packets also include a map and directions as well as motel/campground information for people coming from out of town. This is an '82-'92 Camaro/Firebird only event. All other cars will be parked in a separate area. You can still attend without bringing a thirdgen, however, the same registration fees apply. Thirdgen Fest is the biggest and longest running Thirdgen event in the world. This is a great event and continues to get better every year!!! More information will be posted as it becomes available. :thanks: |

Re: Thirdgen Fest '10 information Sound like a great time. Be nice to add one more catagory for farthest distance travelled (not trailered). Always cool to reward those that made the greatest effort to be there and as an incentive for attracting cars from farther away. |
