Wells su145 maf i bought one of these awhile back because the stock oem mafs I was using kept going up... For some reason though my car didnt like it...felt weaker than stock oem maf,and would stumble at high rpms...it also had a screen on the front of it ,which I thought these meters didnt come with any screens? I took the screen out of the front thinking it would pick up a little, and when I started the car up it threw a code and ran on limp mode...I have a cold air intake(slp)....are these meters calibrated or something... Any body have a problem with these meters? Back to the oem maf now..... |
The WELLS Su-145 comes with one screen on the air intake/filter side. When you removed the screen you probably damaged the internals of the Maf. Used one for three years without a problem. Now you know rermoving the screens causes problems with any Maf. |
DJP is probably right about the screen but also Wells is one of the cheapest brands out there. If I'm guessing right you probably got it from Autozone. I work in the auto parts bus. and you'd be better off going to someone else. A-zone sells parts meant for the DIY customer. I've lived all over the midwest and southeast and don't know of any mechanic worth his salt that would put Wells ignition on. If you go to someone like Napa, Carquest, O'Reilly's or even Advance you'll find that they carry different brands of ignition (such as Standard, Borg Warner, etc.) that are a better quality. |
Nothing wrong with the WELLS Maf quality also its a better design and is cheaper then the stock overpriced one. Again AutoZone does not stock or sell the WELLS Maf . One of the reasons they are hard to find. |
