manual switch for CSI

I need a cold start injector in my car. The problem is my engine is out of a '89. My ECM is a '85. I know the CSI is controlled by the cold start switch mounted on the front of the intake, my intake obviously doesn't have it.
So, can I wire a switch to the cold start injector so I can fire it manually? Is the injector powered by 12 volts?

Also, would this combo of parts work: '89 throttlebody, '86 plenum, '86 driverside fuel rail, '86 driverside runner. '89 passengerside runner, '89 passengerside fuel rail, '89 intake base.

Thanks,

Matt

Even though the 86 drivers side runner might support a CSI, I don't think the 89 intake will have the necessary passages to get the fuel into the intake. You could easily check that with eng disassembled.

If you get past that hurdle, the CSI could be wired for manual ops.
The CSI gets 12V as long as the starter is engaged. The CSI gets its ground from the temp switch you don't have. By replacing that temp switch with a manual switch wired to ground, it would open the CSI when starter is engaged.
I would use a momentary push type switch cause if you left the switch on and tried to restart eng when warm, you would probably flood it. The factory temp switch also has a built-in timer so the CSI doesn't stay open during long cranking attempts.

well i had it apart once and it looks like theres a passage there. The CSI does have a hole to go into, it seemed to all bolt togather. But i ran into a idle problem and fuel leak soo I put all the original parts back on. Now I am getting new injectors, so when I replace those I want to put the CSI in.

Thanks,

Matt
