rpms dont like to go above 2000

I noticed sometimes on acceleration the rpms will stick and bog at 2000rpm, it wont go above, or if it does it will bog down to 2000. Occasionally it will go above 2000 like normally, but sometimes if I nail the throttle while its going normal, it will bog.
When cruising above 2000rpm(highway) it will bog to around 2000 if i add a bit of throttle, as soon as I let off the rpms will go back to normal.

WTF!? I am out of ideas, I am putting in new fuel injectors, i think that is part of the problem. I am also doing a tune up. I did it last year, but I figure with the injectors bein replaced to it couldnt hurt.
I cant get it to do it in neutral. And there is a slight rpm drop when the throttle is first pressed, not all the time though.

Any ideas please help!

Thanks,

Matt

Well doing a full tuneup, especially check your plug wires and plugs is a good start. U never know, some could be fouled.
It sounds to me like your fuel pump is out the door too.

I hope it isnt the pump. I know the price to replace would be high, and I am not sure I could do it myself. It seems to be a pain. I'm pretty sure the pump runs. I'll check it out though.

I have replaced many fuel pumps myself and very seldom do they start loosing pressure, usually when they go bad they stop pumping completly. Only way to be sure though would be with fuel pressure guage, also most often a lose in pressure is the cause of a clogged filter. Take filter off and try blowing through it, should pass through with little effort. If pump does need replaced it's not a difficult job but is one the requires a lot of work and time. It's a big job no doubt about it, but not one that requires a lot of skill. Just make sure you have all the correct tools. Also how do your air filters look??

the air filter looks decent, could be replaced, but isnt that bad

reason I ask is because sometimes a filter that's clogged can cause a lack of air and cause the car to bog, but it usually has to be pretty nasty for the car to act like that.

Hmm, i was thinking yesterday, would a bad MAF do something like this?
