LT1 intake on LB9/L98

i was reading the recent issue of gm high tech performance and they were talking about the best mods for LB9/L98 and they mentioned a kit to fit an LT1 intake on one of these motors. what is included in the kit and who puts this kit out, also with mild mods how would this intake perform compared to stock style

John @ www.lt1intake.com might be able to do it for you..

John's a great guy to work with on a project like this. If it doesn't work right he does everything to make it right. I love my intake.

You can decide. The early LT1 sacrificed a wee bit of tourque on the low end, as compared to the L98. The upper RPM ranges were all in favor of the LT1 - by a long shot. The later year LT1s didn't even give up any torque to the L98, and kept on grinding out more power at RPMs than a TPI could ever support.

The bigger differences were the heads, cam. lighter crank and rods, and the intake, of course. And if anyone suggests that an LT1 intake on a 305 is "a waste", remind them that teh same intake was installed on the L99 - a 265-inch version of the LT1. The L99 made more average power than stock LB9s, with 40 fewer cubes. That's like a 305 making more power than a 350 - which of course, can happen. Imagine what a good intake and heads can do with the 40 extra cubes of the 305.

So if an Lb9'er were to have a nice streetable LT1 intake, what cam and heads should he get if he plans on running 3.73's?

^^^That's what I want to do!
