I believe it is available through SDPC2000.com and you can make it work with anything, if you are good with wiring and can make a custom PROM... |

Thanks for the parts list, right now we are trying to validate cost effectiveness of the set up. Anyway I go I need a custom chip. This is for a 58' Chevy truck w/ a vortec headed 350. It has a Comp Cams XE264 HR cam, .487/.495 lift. The suggested powerband is 1200-5200. It seems like that cam would mate up to the characteristics of a Ram Jet nicely. I just need to determine if a GM SD computer w/ a good PROM burner will make this thing work right. The other option we are exploring is a SDPC vortec base, w/ an Accel Super Ram plemun and runners. If anyone has any suggestion, opinions, tips, or otherwise.....feel free to express your thoughts. I would be very interseted to hear them. the ramjet is a more suited manifold candidate than say a miniram. the super ram is better in relation to torque than high rpm. trucks generally run in the 5500-6500# class. to make them run like an f-body car is tougher. unless you are going to run strip racing, gear your decisions on the low end torque factor. the drivability is better, easier to tune, and less wrench time. unless your engine is going to 6000+rpm the stock TPI style would be best. larger tubes and the vortec base. chip tuning is a bit tedious but is doable! vortecs have been running 15-22% more in fuel table adjustments. timing because of the high lead or vortec has to be trial and error. the gm 7730 SD computer is probably the easiest to tweak. TIP: use the felpro 1255 intake gasket during installation. the gm composite seem to leak with time. vacuum leak is what a couple of customers have experienced. airdeano |
The truck in question only weighs about 3400-3500 lbs. So, therefore weight is not a major issue. This truck is not a race - orientated vehicle. It is geared pretty well though, 3.73's. It has a 700R4 w/ an SLP converter.
