Anyone bypass the factory fuel pressure regulator?

I'm planning to install an external fuel pressure regulator for many reasons, including ease of access. I'm tired of jamming a wrench under the plenum trying to adjust the fuel pressure for nitrous or general tunning. I have already converted my engine bay fuel lines to -6AN so plumbing is no problem. But I need to bypass the factory regulator. So what have you guys done to bypass the factory regulator? I was planning of just making a small block-off plate and bolting it in place of the factory regulator (so the regulator wont become a restriction)...so what other things have you guys done?

i have done it. can't find a photo. I welded up the holes from the rear crossover tubes, then used the hole for the schraeder, drilled it out to 1/4 pipe, used a 1/4 pipe to 6 an fitting. out of that fiting to the in of a bypass reg. out the reg to the return line.

ah ok. I think I'm just going to keep everything normal on the fuel rail just make a "block off plate/delete plate" for the factory fuel pressure regulator and then just install the pressure regulator later down in the return line...

I have an extra fuel rail I was looking. I'm just going to make the plate. I already started. I have some thick steel plating (not too thick, just the right size). I'll take pics when I'm done...

I went ahead and did it yesterday. I just cut the block plate and drilled the holes. I had an extra faulty diaphragm lying around so I cut the 2 rubber (I think its rubber) circles from the diaphragm and used them as the gaskets as the factory does. I also went ahead and used the factory ring that goes on top of the pressure regulator. Not because the plate wasn't flat but because I thought it'd be a good idea to have equal pressure all around. That is about all it took. It was pretty simple and I installed the aftermarket regulator by the wheel well. The way it stands now is directly over the header and IT IS NOT staying that way. I'm going to the store after I finish this post to get a few more elbow fittings to position it away. I'm also going to position it to look a little better so there aren't fuel lines just all over the place without order. So far it has been easy as hell to adjust the fuel pressure. No more trying to get a wrench under the plenum. The only problem I had is that when I bolted everything up I started the car and it took it a few turovers to start and it had a horrible idle and I didn't know why. Then I saw the SES light and remembered I forgot to plug in the MAF and the TPS
