305 TPI Low RPM Miss

I just got a 91 TA 305 TPI 5-speed. I am getting a low RPM miss. When the car is idling, if you slowly push on the gas the car misses bad from idle to about 2000 rpms. Then It will smooth out. Some times it will so bad that it will die. IF you just punch the gas it seems fine.

The previous guy said he replaced the fuel pump due to it wouldn't rev past 3000 rpms. He also replaced the cap rotar, plugs, wires, and tps sensor. I do not have a SES light or any codes stored. The car only has 120,000 miles on it. Could it be fuel injectors?

I would say coil. It might not be getting enough power till it charges up some.

I am going to check the plugs, cap, rotar, and injectors tomorrow and see what comes of that. IS there anyway to test the ignition coil?

i have pretty much the same thing with my 5.7 tpi, ive tested/replace everything you've listed except for my injectors which were out of spec at 11.8 ohms (spec is 14-16), so im guessing that's the problem...just havent had money or time to replace them yet

Re: 305 TPI Low RPM Miss

Did the standard tune up on it: cap, rotar, plugs, and wires. All the old plugs were a light brown color like there supposed to be. Still misses really bad. Its actually getting worse. Getting hard to keep it running at low speeds. Checked the firing order, and it is correct. Checked the fuel pressure, and its at 45 psi with the gauge I have. Ohmed out the injectors while they were cold and all were 14.x ohms. Havn't done them while hot yet.

only thing left is a bad injector(s) or a dead cylindar. Still no SES light. We found out the plugs are a complete PIA to change on this thing. The air tubes that go into the exhaust manifolds for the smog pump are in the way of everything.
