What cam for an aftermarket intake setup would you suggest?

I have the opportunity to pick up an Edelbrock High Flow 3891 lower intake and runners. My factory heads are ported for 2.02/1.60 valves. I don't race this car but I do like to have fun with it as a street machine. Right now I have the stock TPI intake. I also have a Comp cam 08-300-8. It's to small. That's basically the stock cam, as recommended by them, which I regret. I don't need anything to radical but I'd like something that would work well with my setup.

I'd try a 08-422-8 or the 08-502-8

Will need tuning to fully benefit it

I'm getting a chip burned, just want to know what I'm burning for so I'd need to settle on a cam. Car has a T5 by the way. Don't know if that matters. I know torque converters have to be considered when cam selecting for an auto.

I gave Comp a call for shites & giggles and they suggested the 08-502-8 or the 08-466-8. The latter is .570 .560 lift. Forgive my ignorance, but is that too much lift for these engines? Do I need a particular piston for clearance? Last thing I need to do is drive the valves into something.

Its likely more lift than you need. I assume since your heads have upgraded valves that they have been setup to handle high lift cams. How much more lift will depend on how far the guide boss was cut and how tall the valves are and what springs you use.

The high lift cam is xfi series and it needs a pretty good spring to run well. Stiff double spring but since tpi is goin to limit rpm it may be ok with typical hyd roller springs. Need to know what you have currently and if you will be replacing

I have Iskendarian valve springs but I can't recall exactly what part number they were. They were a double spring if I recall. Were you referring to the 466 or 502? I think the 466 would be to much overall.
