Can anyone tell me what "vin code 18 L F-body" would mean?

Re: Vin code

The VIN code of 18L doesn't make any sense. That ECM, the '7730, was used in '90 - '92 TPI f-body cars. VIN 8 being the L98 engine (350) with VIN F being the LB9 engine (305).

The BCC code of ADDT is for a 4-cylinder TBI vehicle. Of course the MEMCAL could have been swapped for a TPI calibration. Pop the small cover off and get/post a good pic of the MEMCL. That will tell us a lot more.

Is this the right area? I found it has a chip in it.

Of course it has an aftermarket chip/MEMCAL in it. Unless there is a part number on it you can look up or call ADS. Who knows what it is for.
