torque arm bushings

For those of you with 700R4s and T5s that have upgraded to an energy suspension polyurethane torque arm bushing, which part number did you end up using? Recall that there are two similar, but not identical parts: 31111 and 31112. It seems the only way to get the right part is to stick your head underneath the car and check out which way the lips on the torque arm face. I've been wondering if there are any trends in which part number went with which years/models, e.g. RS, Z28, TA, etc.

Please post your year make and model along with part number. If the poll thingie works, use that too.

t.q arm bushing

I have an 89GTA and they face towards the drive shaft so the 3.1112 for me.

I don't think there's any way to really know unless you go under there and look. My 89 RS had the lips facing the driveshaft, and it's a T5. If I were you I'd just go look to be sure, it only takes a couple seconds.

I'm well aware that it's best to look to be sure of any given car, but I'm just interested to see if there are any trends. Thanks for your input though.

My 86 T5, 88 Auto, 90 T5, 96 T56 and 96 T5 cars all had torque arms with the lips facing the driveshaft.
I've never seen the other style, facing away.

Well, I guess my car's a freak. The lips face away from the driveshaft on my torque arm, and I'm using the 3.1111 mount.

An update on this thread:

My 83 T/A with V8 and700R4 had the lips facing towards the driveshaft.
My 89 RS with V8 and 700R4 had the lips facing away from the driveshaft.

I ended up swapping in the torque arm from the 83 into the 89 since I only had a torque arm clamshell made for the arm with lips facing driveshaft. Apparently, there are two different torque arm clamshells depending on which way the lips on the torque arm face. I know this because I bought both torque arm bushings that Energy Suspension sells, and the 'lips away' bushing would NOT fit in the 'lips toward' clamshell.

Just an FYI for anyone wondering...

i've heard that early, like '82-'83 cars had the lips away, and all other 3rd gens had the other style. ES says that on the description too I think....

my '82 has the lips facing the driveshaft, and on the box for it it says "for '84-92 f-body". Must be a freak.
