Richmond 6 Speed I was reading about this and was interested...i can get one from SDPC for around 3k with a crossmember and shifter for third gen f bodies...would this transmission be better than a t56? i am gonna just get one new...and i have not decided wether to go with a tko600, t56, and now i am liking this one...how much torque can they handle? are they good transmissions? i have not heard much about them...but they say that they use NASCAR technology... Thanks for the info... |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed VERY noisy. great for racing, drive you nuts in a street car. |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed really?...which would you choose for a daily driver? |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed a used t56 would be the cheapest route, and a popular one at that. the tko600 is a great trans, though good luck finding a used one. |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed cool...i was thinking about buying one new anyway...but thanks for the info! |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed if you plan to cross 450hp go with the TKO600. Im right at the edge of what the T56 can handle. But i absolutely love it on the street. However, my freind who is also prospecting getting a standard for his olds cutlass, decided to go with a TKO because with big block power, it'll cross 600hp at the flywheel. Theres a company in Texas that sells remanned T56s for $2000 with a 1 year warranty, even if you drop it off the lift and it was completely your fault. |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed relly? what is the name of the company? do they have a website? |
Re: Richmond 6 Speed http://www.standardtransmission.com/BW_T-56.html This is my favorite part: "***We also keep in stock a large inventory of remanufactured T56 units. They are priced from $1300.00 to $1650.00 exchange, depending on application.*** Meaning, you find them a blown core, and they wil give u a new tranny for $1300-$1650. I also talked to the guy to have it shipped from texas (where they are located) To NY (Ogdensburg) at the border basically cuz i live in Canada. ANd he said it would cost $125 there abouts. I think they also build whatever you want, so if you want a T56 to handle a certain amount of power, or watever they can prolly cater to ur needs. |
