I just found out from the dude at the chevy dealership that my engine isn't the one that came with the car and not only is it unoriginal but a 350 instead of the LB9. In the next week I was planning on installing my b&m ripper but with this new revelation I want to verify that there is still a T-5 in my car. Does anybody know any casting numbers or any physical features of the t-5?
Also-can some people with LB9s tell me what gas mileage they get? I kept it below 2000 rpm and got 15-17 highway-hows that?

Is it a 5-speed? If so, it's about 99.9999% odds it's a T-5. That's the only thing that will fit except for things like Richmond or Tremec.

Get up under it and look at the pass side near the fill & drain plugs, there should be a B-W logo on it.
