How hard to install TC and shift kit ?

I went to a few shops today to talk to them about installing a vigilante and transgo shift kit. There are not many performance oriented shops around here so were the typical responses I got - who the heck is Precision Industries and what is a "vigilante ?" All TC's have the same torque multiplication. You should have went with a BM convertor and shift kit. You will have to put your car in nuetral at stoplights or the tranny will burn up. Another good one, all IROCS/formulas got TC w/ 2400 stall speed, why are you only going with a 2700 stall speed ? You get the picture.

I've done heads/cam on a thirdgen with tpi and one with a carb with not much problem - and about everything else, just never messed with a tranny. I've concluded that I should probably try to do these things myself as well. I really don't have any resources down here so once I start you guys will be all that I have. The good thing is that it is not a daily driver so time is not that important - so, should I or shouldn't I ?

They're both pretty easy to install for someone who plays with cars a lot. The TransGo kit even comes with a video to help you through the install.

The converter will require you to seperate the tranny from the engine and slide it back enough to squeeze the TC in and out. Not fun and messy when the TC starts spilling fluid all over the place. I just drop the tranny to chance the TC, but that's a bit harder in the driveway.
